Appleton & Lange's Quick Review : Physician Assistant
Published in Paperback by McGraw-Hill/Appleton & Lange (11 May, 2001)
Average review score:

FrustratingI agree with the other reviewer. Errors, errors, errors! Find a different review book if possible.
Too many inaccuraciesI found too many questions with incorrect answers. I found this book to be frustrating. A book of this type should be carefully proofread and it obviously was not.
Excellent Prep for PA testGreat way to QUICKLY focus and prep for the national PA test. I used this book and I just passed the PA test, even though I had limited time to study. Questions are divided according to the various medical specialties (Peds, ID, GI, etc.) which helps focus your review so you can concentrate on your weak areas, while avoiding wasting your time reviewing questions in your strong specialty areas.

It's not as good as Kumar'sThe quality of pictures and diagrams were poor. More slide preparations should be displayed

The Winter War (Thorndike Large Print Western Series)
Published in Hardcover by Thorndike Pr (Largeprint) (June, 1998)
Average review score:

Takes reader's stamina & determinationAfter reading every word of the paperback, I find very little to say positive about "The Winter War". Knowing "The Winter War" won the 1961 Western Writers of America Spur Award in the HISTORICAL NOVEL division was probably my motive in selecting the book. It certainly took a lot of stamina and determination to get the book read.

Appleton & Lange's Outline Review for the USMLE Step 2
Published in Paperback by McGraw-Hill/Appleton & Lange (11 November, 1998)

Appleton & Lange's Outline Review for the USMLE Step 2I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I FIRST READ THE BOOK,IT WAS WASTAGE OF TIME&MONEY, EVEN NOT GOOD FOR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT OR NURSE PRACTITIONER.
A complete waste of moneyA person can;t pass with the amount of sparse info in this book. MI summarised in half a page,! .How nice. All imp topics contain not more than a few lines.Good if you want to fail
Great Outline BookI found this book awesome for quick review. If you want detailed explanations, use Harrison's! I would recommend this book highly, especially to those who paid attention in class and only need a quick review. This book gives you what you need to know for USMLE step 2.

We Should Be So Lucky : Love, Sex, Food, and Fun After Forty from the Diva of QVC
Published in Hardcover by Pocket Books (October, 1997)
Average review score:

I didn't like it either, but. . .Why anyone would spend money on Levine's book just to find out what happened to some peripheral character with whom she once worked is beyond me.
Still interesting...This is Kathy's second "authobiography" coauthored with Jane Scovill. I would say that this book is not as JUICY as her 1st book, but still very interesting ONLY if you are a QVC/Kathy Levine fan already. Kathy is as honest as Kathy can be. She still will not say anything negative about QVC or any of the guests/hosts since she still is gainfully employed by QVC. And I think some of her experiences with men are nothing out of the ordinary for us really ordinary women.
We should all be so determined and disciplined!"I've been lucky, very lucky. In fact, we should all be so lucky," says Kathy Levine. Actually, Kathy Levine sets clear goals and takes action to achieve them. When she makes mistakes, many of which she details in this book, she refuses to be crushed, and gets up and tries again. This was a pleasant read, chatty and truthful, like a letter from a relative you haven't seen in a long while.

Tom Swift & His Air Scout (Tom Swift Sr. #22)
Published in CD-ROM by Quiet Vision (31 March, 1999)
Average review score:

offensiveThis is not a good book for children, since the author (in the early 1900's) wrote an offensive caricature of the dark-skinned man of African descent. The publisher placed a disclaimer on the title page.

Tom Swift in the Caves of Ice
Published in Paperback by Quiet Vision (July, 2000)
Average review score:

Poorly produced machine reprintingThe originals have been squeezed from a 210-page format to half that number of pages by spreading a small typeface across pages with no margins. Although the publisher claims that typographical errors in the original have been corrected, the copy is riddled with ludicrous typos (degree symbols for the letter "o", "&" for the letter "d", "Neil" for "Ned", etc. with an average of 1-1/2 typos per page. Clearly these were scanned by machine and run through a spell checker, untouched by human eye. The illustrations in the originals are omitted. It seemed a service to reprint the original Tom Swift series in an affordable format, but these are cheap, ugly and so carelessly made that they aren't worth the trouble.

Overall, I'm glad I bought it, but I think if I only had time for one book, I would go with more of a scenario-based one. Also, this version is a bit out-of-date. I haven't had the FP board yet.
